What is the main problem of Indians?

I was on a flight from Kolkata to Ahmedabad. For once, I was seated in the aisle seat. Since it was a late-night trip, there was nothing to see out the window, and I didn't want to pay extra for a window seat. I boarded the airplane after the majority of people to avoid having to shift if the people in the center and window seats arrived after me because I had the aisle seat.
Just then, the passengers on my left who were in the middle seat and the window seat asked me to give way so that they could get their bags and join the queue on the aisle.
Oddly, I have only observed this behavior in Indians. People from other countries hardly ever do this. I have noticed that relatively few individuals stand up as soon as the plane lands on my overseas flights. Even on those aircraft, it's evident from their features that the majority of persons getting up are Indian.
There was nowhere to escape. I didn’t understand why everyone was in such a rush to get off the plane; people were standing close to me! Staying seated is preferable to blocking the aisle like students waiting to get out of class.

I lost a friend of mine to suicide last night. We had been to her funeral today.
It was unexpected. She was 22 years. She was married. Yes, teenage love. Though her in-laws were supportive, her parents and family weren't. She had to go through a lot because of this.
Her husband was a very nice guy. He supported her through thick and thin. Unfortunately, he was killed in a road accident around 2–3 months ago.
Unable to cope up with this tragedy, my friend committed suicide. She was depressed and lonely after her husband's death.
I visited with 3 of my friends. There was a huge crowd. The funeral was held at my friend's home. All her relatives and in-laws were present. An old aged couple was also present, who I assume, are her grandparents.
They had no grief at all. Almost everyone around was sad, including us who knew the girl for barely a year. But the elderly couple were fine and not sad.
They kept telling something to everyone around them in Telugu. Since I don't understand the language, I couldn't figure out much.
While coming back home, my friend translated that to me. She told me that the couple kept abusing the girl and were infact happy that she lost her life.
Inter-caste marriage.
The girl and the guy married much against the wishes of her family and after the marriage, she was disowned by her family.
However, they gathered only after she was dead. Though most people including her parents realized their wrongdoings, self-respect and family traditions mattered more to her grandparents than her life.
They kept ranting all the while that the girl and her husband deserved death for playing around with her family's respect.
At the end of the day, their ego had more importance than someone's life.
People don't know when not to talk. Someone's dead, so one needs to be sad for the family members. At least, don't curse around the deceased and the other family members.
Next scenario.
Nobody even asked the elderly couple to keep quiet while they were ranting.
Why?
Cause age. They are the eldest in the family, so of course they are right no matter what.

They know to keep mum when they must actually speak out. They have no guts to ask someone to keep quiet even if all they're saying is not even relevant.
Sobs!
Edit 1:
By this, I'm not accusing all the elderly couples and Indians out there. But this has been observed in many households and I wished to point this out.
As I traveled to Goa from Chandigarh on a 36-hour train journey, I noticed something unfortunate. The toilet was clean when we started, but as we crossed Delhi, it became very dirty. People had not flushed after using it, and it smelled bad.
This made me think about a big problem in India - many people don't keep public places clean. They don't think about others who will use the same facilities after them. It's important for everyone to be more responsible and keep public places clean for everyone's benefit.
I have always been fascinated by the achievements of India, but it is also our moral responsibility to address the problems of India and its people.
Let's begin with the British Empire, which not only looted our nation for 250 years but also enslaved us. In many places across India, Indians and even dogs were prohibited, denying us entry into our own country.
We were treated as third-class citizens, and while many discuss the German concentration camps where millions of Jews were killed, the atrocities committed by the British in India often go unnoticed. Approximately 165 million (unaccounted) people lost their lives under British rule. The Bengal Famine alone claimed 3.8 million lives because Churchill prioritized "other" matters over addressing the crisis.
When a random white dude arrives and expresses admiration for India and Hinduism, many Indians react with overwhelming enthusiasm, as if this external validation is the ultimate endorsement they seek.
Numerous YouTubers, unfamiliar with India's true essence and cultural intricacies, have found a singular formula for success on the platform: presenting a positive narrative about India. Despite lacking a profound understanding of the country, these content creators amass millions of followers, predominantly Indians, capitalizing on the sentiments of the audience to generate substantial financial gains.
Even when I watched their content for the first time, I felt like yes, this is what I wanted to listen from someone who doesn’t even know our country. When the same information is conveyed by our teachers or parents, it often goes unnoticed or unappreciated.
However, there is one point where Indians get united: Speaking against India.
There are many anti-national YouTubers who are afraid to live in India but spread propaganda against it. Strangely, this is where Indians show love; millions of followers, predominantly from India, eagerly watch and support them.
So, if you are a foreigner with white skin, simply "Speak about India" on any platform, and you will gain blind followers. Conversely, if you are an Indian, "Speak against India" on any platform, and you will also attract blind followers.
I began writing this response with a reference to the Britishers because one thing we learned from them is the "showcase of power" among weaker populations. It's not just me; many others may also feel that in India, everyone seems to be vying for power.
Is it just with me or you guys also think that everybody is just trying to acquire power in India? People just want a govt job so that they could have power to affect people's life (not in a good way). When interacting with government officials, one often encounters arrogance and a sense of entitlement. Most of them are like child who needs a constant appraisal of their ego and their false sense of manhood. I really don't think India will develop, maybe on paper but not on ground.

Total 216 cases have been registered against civil servants in India in last 5 years by CBI. Puja Singhal from my own state Jharkhand, she was found with 19 crores of cash in her house last year, still she wasn’t terminated from her service, only suspended.
I believe it's essential for us to change our mentality. Our focus should shift towards being driven by a commitment to the nation.
Hope one day, we will achieve it.
